Trek to Kailash-Mansarovar mostly well known for two things and that are parikrama of Mt. Kailash and having a holy bath in the Mansarovar Lake. Legends believed that doing so relieves an individual from sins and brings salvation.
Mount Kailash is a sacred place to especially Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bons. According to the legends, Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati meditated in the Mt. Kailash. Jains believes that first Jain Tirthankara gained nirvana in the Mt. Kailash. Buddhist accepts as true that Buddha represented supreme bliss in Mt. Kailash. All believes states a spiritual connection with the entire region.
Holy lake, Lake Mansarovar lies at the foot of the sacred Mount Kailash. Situated at Tibet, the lake is considered to be the Asia’s holiest lake. The lake colors changes, blue near the shores and emerald green towards the center. The Lake looks more beautiful in the moonlight.
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu(1350m) to Zhangmu/ Nyalam (150km), 3700m /Kyirung.
Day 2: Rest Day in Nyalam, 3700m ( Rest day in Kyirung).
Day 3: Drive from Nyalam/ Kyirung to Saga(4450m)- 232 km.
Day 4: Saga to Paryang (4558m) to Mansarovar (4600m)- 507 km 8-9 hrs.
Day 5: Drive to Darchen (14975ft)- 40km.
Day 6: Trek to Dira-Puk(5000m).
Day 7: Trek Dira Puk-Zuthul Puk, 18km, 6-7 hrs, 550m ascent, 600m descent.
Day 8: End of Kailash Parikrama and drive to Manasarovar
Day 9: Drive back to Saga (507km) 8-9 hrs.
Day10: Drive back to Kyirung/Nyalam : (245km) 6-7 hr.
Day 11: Kyirung/Nyalam to Kathmandu 150 km.
